Before the race, there was good organization in getting the numbers, little shoe chips, and sweatshirts distributed. Best sweatshrit type thing I have ever gotten at a race - worth the price of the race. Parking was plentiful and right next to the registration and race.
The course is very flat and potentially very fast.
Approximately the first quarter of the race is run on a bike path on the side of the road. If you are looking for a time under 24 min. in the race, you need to start up above the top quarter of the pack. The bike path is narrow, and if you start any further back, you need to just move with the flow and enjoy the run. There is live road traffic on one side of the bike path. Traffic was not heavy, but there was enough traffic that it would not be wise to go outside the bike path to pass. You run with traffic, so you can't see what is behind you without turning around.
The second and third quarters of the race are run on residential streets with no traffic. In this section of the course, if you are looking for a time, there is more than enough room to fly.
The last quarter of the course is again on the bike path.
A problem I saw on the bike path in the final quarter of the race, was a young lady with a dog on a chain. She ran on one side of the bike path, and the dog was on the other side of the bike path, with the chain stretching across the bike path. To pass her, you had to run outside the bike path taking care to watch the traffic behind you. I am assuming that this was a guide dog, since the race rules stipulated that only guide dogs could be in the race.
Extremely well organized finish, and then pickup of water, fruit and bagel. There was a program where prizes were given and awards were presented. It was very entertaining.

I've run other races where it was competition and I stuck out like sore thumb. I was just one of the pack here. Best of all you get a really nice warm hoodie, meet nice people. Don't know if I'll do it again because cold weather running gets me sick.but if you can stand the cold it's a very good race.

The course was level, with volunteers throughout the course pinting the way. It all ran like a well-oiled machine. I will be back and would highly reccommend this event. Great way to start the year!

Every one in Hillsbourgh must run to maintain the times they demonstrate in the times they run. It is encouraging to me to continue to do my best. Keep up the good work.

Since it's early on New Year's day cars aren't much of a danger. Plently of people come outside to cheer on the runners. The course is fast and flat. Check-in and post-race awards, food, and chip collection are very well done. The hoody that goes along is also very comfortable. There are almost many give-aways which made the entire experience worth it.

Organization is top-notch and there are always great prize give-aways. The hoodies are the icing on the cake. And you can't beat the indoor toilets! I look forward to this race each year. It's a great way to start the New Year!
